You might already be well aware that the island of Maui is home to world-class golf courses, one of which has received a number of awards! The celebrated Kapalua Golf Bay Course features the only spot on Maui where you can play over the ocean and has hosted over 20 professional tournaments. And as if the green fairways of the Bay Course could not get any better, Kapalua Golf has recently announced that we can hope to see some major upgrades happening in the future with a multi-year property improvement plan.
To further solidify Kapalua as the top destination for golf as well as luxury Maui real estate investments, these enhancements include rerouting the Bay Course to help improve the pace for players and hopefully create a few challenges that will spice up your next round on the green!
So what specifically is changing? Here are just a few of the improvements you can expect to see as we continue into 2019.
Rerouted Golf Course
Frequent Kapalua golfers will come to find that the Bay Course has a new look! In order to set golfers off on the right foot, the course has been rerouted starting with the first hole which has taken the place of the former 7th hole. Similar changes have also occurred to the former 4th and 5th holes where players can play along the ocean on the new 16th and 17th holes. And the new 18th hole has replaced the former 6th hole, challenging players with an intriguing uphill par 5.
Relocated Shop
Aside from the course itself, facilities have also seen some upgrades! With the new enhancements to the Village Center at Kapalua, the Bay Course Golf Shop has recently been relocated to join the Kapalua Golf Academy, administrative offices, and Taverna Restaurant.
Redesigned Academy
From resurfaced hitting decks to an expansion to the Academy practice range and tee areas, even the Kapalua Golf Academy is being modernized with a complete redesign! Want to practice your short-game prior to taking on the challenging course? There has also been a nice addition of a huge 9,000 square-foot putting green to warm up before teeing off!
