Maui Real Estate Sales in Hawaii

The population of Hawaii is growing at a nice healthy rate, economic stresses aside. According to a recent report by the U.S. Census Bureau, state-by-state estimates for 2009 had Hawaii's population at almost 1.3 million.

The rate of growth between July 1, 2008 and July 1, 2009 was 0.6 percent with 7,697 new residents in the sate. The total population is 1,295,178.

As for the U.S. as a whole, the population is around 307 million which is up 0.86 percent from last year's 304 million. Texas had the fastest growth rate but California remains the most populace state with 37 million residents.

The official census of the nation won't be available until 2010 and these estimates are the last we'll see until that time.

The economy is marching along and things seem to be stabilizing. Many economists report improvements that have been consistent so far, but it's still early to accurately guess how things are going to go in the next year. The fact that Hawaii's population is increasing is especially nice to hear as far as the housing market is concerned.

For us, the real value of Maui never wavers. If we continue to take care of it right, the beauty of our island will inspire wonder in residents and visitors alike for generations, regardless of the sale price of homes. It's a privilege to live here and if you are able to buy a home on the island, so much the better.

If you are interested in new developments on Maui, we recommend a look at the wonderful Lanikeha project. For vacant land sales, check the Kaanapali Golf Estates. There are also some very nice Puamana Condos for sale. Remember, if you have any questions not answered on our website, you can call (800) 367-5632 or email us at info@whalersrealty.com. We would love to assist you. Mahalo!
