Renovations at The Whaler on Kaanapali Beach

The Whaler on Kaanapali Beach is known for many conveniences and amenities. For example, not only is it perched on Kaanapali Beach as the name implies, but it also happens to be directly adjacent to Whaler’s Village with its fine shops and restaurants. The new year heralds a 9% reduction of Association of Apartment Owner (AOAO) fees at The Whaler. If you’re not all that familiar with the concept, you should know that all Hawaii condo developments have an AOAO comprised of condo owners who run and maintain the complex. Each owner gets to vote on how the complex is managed. The upcoming reduction of AOAO fees is especially impressive considering the recent renovations at The Whaler.

A $15 resort fee now comes with beach towels, beach chairs, wifi, tennis courts, a fitness room, free parking, valet parking, and a free washer/dryer. In 2015, some of the renovations at The Whaler include work on the BBQ area and new furniture at tower one, new furniture at the pool, several landscaping improvements including new palm trees on the property border, a new herb garden, a pair of new tennis courts, a new on-grade parking lot with space for 108 cars, a re-landscaped property entry, a new fitness center with top-of-the-line equipment, new beach cabana chairs on the beach, and many more improvements.

Moving forward into the new year, The Whaler’s AOAO fees will go toward further renovations including the addition of solar panels on the roof to reduce energy costs, renovation on the courtyard water feature to include waterfalls, and a lobby renovation that will take place in the fall over a period of 120 days.
